Victor de Castro
Victor de Castro has painted since his early childhood. At this point, he has over 25 years of international experience in the world of advertising. He creates advertising campaigns, proposals and interactive media projects for companies such as Citibank, DeBeers, Bacardi, Pepsi, ABC News and many more. He describes himself as a practical and playful art director with extensive experience in the areas of web development, content management systems, TV, print and font design. As an art director and creative director, he worked for J. Walter Thompson, BBDO, the Guild groups and Grey Advertising, among others. His interest in typography came about during his training, when he was assigned the task to explain why the development of movable type represented THE milestone of Western civilization. He went on to design his own fonts and produced a number of typefaces, among them Pompeia™.
