Ability & Always

Ability and Always: two highly individual calligraphic typefaces designed by Anton Scholz

Within its collection of more than 100 typefaces, Scholz Fonts offers abundant unusual calligraphic forms, two of which we describe in more detail in the following.

Ability and Always

Ability

This handwritten typeface is characterised not only by its lavish curlicues, but also by its remarkable appearance that makes certain letters look as if detached from the written context. What may seem on the one hand to be merely a rupture in the text line can also have the effect of being an interesting variation, giving Ability the feel of a calligraphic work of art. Thanks to the numerous alternative glyphs and ligatures, different line weights and the two Condensed versions, this font provides the designer with a wide creative scope in many different contexts. The dynamic, stylish and somewhat formal Ability is particularly at home on greetings cards, but is also ideal for use in the fashion and cosmetics industries.

Always

What first catches one’s eye in the case of Always are the extravagant curlicues of the ascenders and descenders. This calligraphic typeface was designed using a quill pen, thus providing it with an opulent and generous appearance. Always is available in four weights, whereby in the Fat version the curlicues are a little more restrained. Two Condensed versions round off the range on offer and numerous glyph alternatives and ligatures provide the user with diverse and distinctive design options. This versatile and individual typeface can be employed, for example, to create brand names, book titles and even wedding invitations.
