Über die Schriftfamilie Monotype News Gothic
Ähnlich wie die Franklin Gothic war die News Gothic eine von mehreren serifenlosen Schriften, die von American Type Founders in den ersten Jahren des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts hergestellt wurden. Ursprünglich als leichte serifenlose Schrift geschnitten, wurden in den 1940er und 50er Jahren schwerere Versionen sowie einige Condensed-Schriften hergestellt. Die Familie News Gothic Font bietet ein unkompliziertes Design, das sich gut für den Einsatz in Zeitungen und Zeitschriften für Überschriften und in der Werbung eignet.
