Sibylle Hagmann graduated in 1989 from her studies at the Basel School of Design and received her Master of Fine Arts at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. She then worked as a designer and typography lecturer at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Sibylle Hagmann now lives and works in Houston, Texas.
