Helvetica Rounded – Font of the Week

Type Gallery – Helvetica Rounded

Font Designer: Linotype Design Studio, 1978
Helvetica rounded – the rounded version of the classic Helvetica
Helvetica, one of the classic fonts of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, was designed by Max Miedinger in 1956. The neutral and extremely popular font was expanded repeatedly in the decades that followed.
Helvetica Roundedwas created by the Linotype Design Studio in 1978. Rounded fonts were very much in vogue at that time. The well-known VAG Rounded, for example, was published a year later and became the corporate font for Volkswagen.
Like the original version of Helvetica, Helvetica Rounded is very legible and expressive. Its rounded edges, however, make it charming and friendly. All six weights of Helvetica rounded – Bold, Bold Oblique, Black, Black Oblique, Bold Condensed and Bold Condensed Oblique – are available in OpenType format (Standard and Pro versions) and as Web fonts.
