Font Designer – Christine Voigts

The Namibian-German designer, Christine Voigts, created the font Linotype Dropinkā„¢ in 1999. Linotype Dropink is part of the TakeType Library, chosen from the entries of the 1999 International Digital Type Design Contest.
Playing with water and a grass-straw, writing in sand and on stone, watching the glittering drops melt away on hot rocks during childhood days on an african farm originates this spirited font. Although the blots of ink are incidentally and playful, they have a purpose, they are there to stay. They are indeed the highlight of the font, large and small, round and irregularly shaped. Linotype Dropink is intended exclusively for headlines/display and should be used in point sizes of 18 or larger.
The Know How section offers detailed background knowledge to deal with all enquiries about the use of fonts.
