Midan™ font family
Designed by Kameel Hawa in 2005
Midan, designed by Kameel Hawa, director of Almohtaraf Assaudi, in 2005 and extended it by Bold and Black in 2010, is a modern Arabic typeface based on simplified Naskh with a slightly modulated stroke treatment. It is suited for text settings, especially in brochures and magazines. It is characterized by a large body height and open counters and as such can be used in small sizes. The font includes a matching Latin design and support for Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. It also includes proportional and tabular numerals for the supported languages.
Midan is a winner of the TDC2 contest from the Type Directors Club of New York.
