Font Designer – Richard Austin

Richard Austin was born in 1756 and was educated as a woodcutter along with Thomas Bewick. Austin worked for the John Bells foundry from 1788 to 1796 in London, as well as for Alexander Wilson in Glasgow and William Miller in Edinburgh. In 1819 he founded the Imperial Letter Foundry in London.
