1. I have inadvertently purchased a licence for the wrong version of a font. Can I change it?
As a general rule, yes, assuming that your order is not more than 30 days old. Simply buy the licence for the font you want to use. Send us both your new and your old order reference number and we will cancel the order placed in error. Your money will be refunded. Your new purchase must be of a similar product at a comparable price. You will need to delete the font you purchased by mistake as the licence for this font will be cancelled, meaning that you are no longer authorised to use it.

2. What is the difference between “print & preview” and “editable & embedded” fonts?
Fonts can be equipped with various rights. These stipulate how a font may be embedded into a document and what is permitted with the embedded font: Printing and preview (standard) Editable Installable Linotype equips all its fonts with the level “Printing and preview”. This means that fonts can be embedded and the document is reproduced with the correct font wherever it is opened or printed. It is thus possible to carry out the complete pre-printing process without purchasing further licenses. Some of our fonts are available with the feature “editable.” The embedded font allows the user to view, edit and print the document although the font might not be installed in the system (if the application supports this feature!). The font is only accessible to the user within this document and as long as the document is opened. It is not accesible in other applications or documents. Fonts with the feature „editable“ can not be purchased in our webshop. Please send your inquiry to [email protected].

3. I acquired a font license – what does this license allow me and where can I use my acquired font?
The standardized Monotype desktop license allows you to install a font on your computer or up to five computers. Depending on the license model, you may be able to install the font on more computers. You can use a font to create graphics, logos, print products or documents. You can pass these products on to customers, since they are your creative property. However, if your customer wants to use the font for a flier or a document, he or she must acquire their own license first.
