Following on from last month’s release of Helvetica® Hebrew, we’re very pleased to announce the expansion of two of Gary Munch
’s most popular designs, Really™ No 2
and Linotype Ergo
™. Really No 2 (W1G), a true polyglot, already supports Greek and Cyrillic. With the addition of support for Hebrew, this family is a great choice for international corporate branding and beyond. Really No 2 comes in seven weights from from svelte Light through to the formidable Extra Bold. The letterforms, with their relatively high contrast, stand somewhere between the transitional faces like Baskerville
and the so-called Moderns like Bodoni
, though their oblique axis is reminiscent of the classic and very legible Old Stye faces like Caslon
. The result is a strong text face, with the heavier weights and styles perfect for headlines and emphasis.
Really No 2 Hebrew
Garys Much’s sans serif Linotype Ergo, a proud winner in Linotype’s Second International Digital Design Contest in 1997
is equally accomplished. This legible and friendly humanist sans serif feels confident and composed, and works well at a broad range of sizes from text through to display. Moreover, its broad range of weights and styles – four normal-width weights, five condensed weights, and two compressed weights make it an especially versatile typeface for just about every setting.
Linotype Ergo Hebrew
Now that Really No 2 and Linotype Ergo include support for Hebrew they are, more than ever, ideal typefaces for global communications.
