The Art of Hermann Zapf – A video of him working!

The Art of Hermann Zapf
Back in the 1960s and 70s, Hermann created several exclusive typefaces for Hallmark Cards. As a side project, Hallmark commissioned a video of Hermann explaining the basics of calligraphy and how he worked. This short but insightful film is perfect to whet the appetite of aspiring calligraphers. This video is available exclusively bundled with the Zapfino Extra Family CD.
See a clip of the film and read Hermann’s words on its production.

A message from Zapf ...
Hermann has penned a message for our loyal readers in which he speaks about his 70-year relationship with Linotype and how he got started with type design. His remarkable journey is filled with many significant accomplishments along the way. Still with a steady hand for calligraphy and a strong passion for typography, we wish Zapf many more years of health and happiness!
