Robert Hunter Middleton – born 6. 5. 1898 in Glasgow, Scotland, died 3. 8. 1985 in Chicago, USA – type designer, printer.
1908: moves to the USA. Studies painting at the Art Institute of Chicago. From 1923 onwards: type designer for the Ludlow Typograph Company. Works with Ernst F. Detterer and starts producing new weights and versions of Detterer’s Eusebius typeface in 1923. 1933–71: art director of the Ludlow Typograph Company. 1944: founds the Cherryburn Press.
