Type Gallery – Linotype Ambigue

Font Designer: Carla Schweyer, 1999

The concept behind the grotesque Ambigue™ typefaces is the connection of aesthetics and functionality; a particular characteristic of Ambigue’s design is its playful reference to serif typefaces. The variety of font styles allows this type family to be used in virtually every point size – from poster sizes (bold) to magazine body copy (book), and down through small printed but still friendly and legible sizes (small size).
The font family Ambigue is a linear sans serif with the classical proportions of renaissance typefaces; however, its letterforms deviate from the standard grotesque style through its reminisce “half serifs.”
Let the outstanding quality of this typeface convince you.
