Font Designer – William S. Gillies

William S. Gillies was born in San Francisco in 1911 and died in 2000. Gillies was known as an illustrator of dust jackets for books and drew for various magazines. In addition, he worked as a portrait painter and designed the font Gillies Gothicâ„¢ in 1935.
