ITC Rennie Mackintosh™ a été créée en 1996 par Phill Grimshaw et est le fruit de recherches et d'une collaboration entre l'International Typeface Corporation et la Glasgow School of Art. Les formes des lettres sont basées sur l'écriture manuscrite et sur les dessins du créateur écossais Charles Rennie Mackintosh, reconnue internationalement pour ses conceptions de bâtiments, de meubles et d'intérieurs originaux au début du vingtième siècle à Glasgow. Cette famille de polices inclut deux graisses, épaisse et maigre, disposant chacune de caractères alternatifs, ainsi qu'une police ornementale disposant de nombreuses décorations Jugendstil.
