Poul Søgren

Danish designer Poul Søgren studied graphic design both in Copenhagen and at the Imprimerie Nationale, Paris. A former teacher who has been head of the type department at Purup Press A/S in Denmark for more than a decade, Søgren has written extensively on typography, including the manuscript for an educational film about the origin of alphabets. The recipient of numerous national design awards, Søgren also lectures at Danish design schools.
His typeface family Jante Antiqua was originally created for newspaper typography and now is an exclusive of the Monotype Imaging typeface library. The design“s letter shapes are distinctive without begin fussy. Add to this Jante Antiqua’s ample x-height, and the result is a typeface capable of remarkable versatility.
