ITC Freddo was inspired by a sign lettering manual from the 1930s. James Montalbano liked the character shapes illustrated in this manual but found many of the proportions odd. So he reinterpreted them to produce capitals and lower case letters which, according to today's standards, better complement one another.
ITC Nora was designed by James Montalbano when he was on a 1930s

Adobe art director Laurie Szujewska created the font Giddyup™. She used the rope letters decorating cattle brands and cowboy blankets to create Giddyup, a typeface with a twist. "The idea was to make each letter with one line that overlaps like a rope, rather than two strokes joined together,” Laurie Szujewska explains. She also corralled a few varmints into the Giddyup Thangs ornament set.

"Some characters have my own handwriting gestures," says Rocha, like elongated endings and angular shapes.

In the days of hot-metal typesetting, handbooks generally recommended creating typeface mixtures from a single type family, a family being understood as including all of a typeface’s weights, such as light, normal, semi-bold, and bold, and including all of the italic weights as well. A well-rounded type family also includes small caps, tabular and old-style figures. These days, the
