Les créateurs allemands Gerd Sebastian Jakob et Jörg Ewald Meißner ont constitué la famille Linotype Puritas en 1999. Celle-ci, qui comporte six styles typographiques et un ensemble d'éléments décoratifs, présente des formes hyper géométriques rappelant les essais typographiques et calligraphiques des modernistes allemands des années 1920. Les lettres de Linotype Puritas Light, Linotype Puritas Medium et Linotype Puritas Bold sont légèrement inclinées. Cependant, il ne s'agit pas de versions italiques, à l'instar des polices Light Italic, Medium Italic et Bold Italic, mais d'une inclinaison qui participe à l'impression visuelle de dynamisme.
La police Linotype Puritas Ornaments comprend des symboles divers et des éléments de bordure, tous reprenant la signature graphique des lettres qui les accompagnent.
