Introduction:

When autumn’s temperatures cool down to winter levels, many turn their thoughts to the year’s end and toward ideas for perfect gifts; the LinoLetter team is no different! This month, we are pleased to offer a list of selections to help sweep you into 2007. But let’s not forget the upcoming December all too quickly; for the first time, Linotype.com is pleased to offer a Christmas present to all customers who purchase a new OpenType Collection over the next few weeks. Aside from these goodies, we have two more invaluable tools to help tune-up your work for 2007 in this month’s newsletter – the typefaces from the new Sunetta and Linotype Office Alliance families. In addition to these new releases, we are pleased to direct all LinoLetter readers to Type-Tech.de, a great website for typographic shopping during this time of the year.

Follow in the footsteps of the master – Sunetta™ teaches the way of the brush

Sunetta
The brush sings, the ink dances! After decades of working as a designer and calligrapher, all the while educating future generations of students, Werner Schneider retired to his studio to engage in scholarly exercises. Between meditation and contemplation, he painted out the forms for the Sunetta typefaces. Three complementary styles – Sunetta Flair, Sunetta Charme, and Sunetta Magic – work together to build up varying degrees of calligraphy for the user and their designs. The family’s base font, Sunetta Flair, harkens back to the showcard lettering styles of the 1950s, while remaining distinctly European in taste. Sunetta Charme has a more swash-type appearance, while Sunetta Magic is joyfully decorative.

Fine-tuned fonts for office environments – Introducing the Linotype Office Alliance

Linotype Office Alliance
Every year, more and more text is read directly on a computer screen in office applications or on freshly printed sheets from a copier or laser printer. Clear, legible text faces are more imperative to office communication than ever before. Yet most office environments are only equipped with a few basic fonts optimized for both laser printers and computer monitors. Noticing this, Linotype felt the need to come to the rescue of everyday corporate workers! Our new Office Alliance collection not only guarantees data clarity, but its fonts lend a bit of personalization to cubicle life as well. The Linotype Office Alliance is a collection of four typeface families. Each of these families has four font variants: regular, italic, bold, and bold italic. These four variants’ character sets share the same character widths, and when a bit of text inside a document has its style changed, no resulting changes to line wrap will occur!
Discover how Linotype’s Office Alliance typefaces will solve your daily computer text needs.
