Fonts for Sports and Groovy Music

! Welcome to the Current Issue of the LinoLetter ! Subscribe Unsubscribe

Introduction:

Kicking off this edition of the LinoLetter is our new Sport Value Pack, an outstanding font collection with an ideal price. This month’s font spotlight falls on one of our psychedelic favorites, the classic rock evoking Mojo. Additionally, we’d like to present another design close to our hearts: the sketch font Linotype Ego. Rounding out the news is a link to the DecodeUnicode.org website, a worldwide wiki aiming to classify the entire range of Unicode characters.

Have fonts of fun!
Sport Value Pack
Looking for universally applicable symbols, or fonts for sporting events? What about family trips and vacations? With Linotype’s Sport Value Pack, you’ll always have five fitting fonts ready. The package’s three symbol fonts – Energetics, Holiday Pi, and Vialog Signs Sport – cover a wide range of pictograms. Also included in the package are the 3D outline font ITC Pioneer, and the athletic jersey-inspired Princetown.
Special Summer Sale: this collection is available through August 31 for just USD/EUR 29,50!
Mojo
Could there be a better font to get your mojo grooving? The Mojo typeface is an adaptation of 1960s lettering styles popularized by the poster artists Wes Wilson, Victor Moscoso, and Rick Griffin. During the heyday of classic rock, their psychedelic work was seen all over the San Francisco Bay Area. The style itself was rooted in the Art Nouveau period, unmistakably influenced by turn-of-the-century Viennese poster designer Alfred Roller.
True to its roots, Mojo is best used in large display sizes, on posters or signs. But the font also works well on small invitations and flyers, and might even be the right choice for your band’s logo.
Linotype Ego
Linotype Ego is a fun font from German designer Jörn Rings. Its forms have all the spontaneity and charm of true sketchy handwriting, and the font lends a personal character to private correspondence (letters, greeting cards, etc.). Linotype Ego is legible even in small point sizes, and is meant for short to middle length texts or headlines.
DecodeUnicode
DecodeUnicode.org is the newest website for anyone interested in the history of writing and computer technology. The site’s aims are no less ambitious than to describe virtually every single symbol ever made by mankind!
Unicode, the internally accepted standard for document encoding, is an evolving system that can classify characters from all historical and contemporary writing systems, including Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, Thai, Chinese, Braille, etc., plus a huge number of special characters such as dingbats, copyright glyphs, currency symbols, mathematical characters, and punctuation. DecodeUnicode.org is an open science database that grows based on the participation level of online users. The aggregation of information follows the wiki principle, which has been used successfully for years by the free online encyclopedia Wikipedia.
