Born: Shiraz, Iran, 1975. Monib Mahdavi is an Australian graphic designer and type designer. He was born into a Baha’i family in Shiraz, Iran, in 1975 and migrated to Australia with his family prior to the Iranian revolution in 1979. His design work has been awarded by industry bodies such as the Australian Graphic Design Association and the Melbourne Art Directors Club as well as appearing in Australian and international design journals. His work includes print and interactive design solutions for global companies including Acer, Cisco Systems, DuPont and General Motors. He has also lectured at Universities in South Australia and Tasmania and written for some of Australia’s largest newspapers. Monib Mahdavi currently operates his own graphic design consultancy under the name Monib.
