Sassoon was designed in the style of typefaces found in schoolbooks in the early 20th century. The font exhibits a harmony between the space within and outside of the letters. The forms have soft, round forms which give text an almost ornamental character. This flexible font can be used for headlines or text, in small or large point sizes.

The Sassoon Sans and Sassoon Sans Slope font families have been developed from the original Sassoon Primary and Infant fonts and are intended for use in works aimed at older readers. While maintaining the same friendly style of the Primary and Infant fonts, the exit strokes are omitted to widen the appeal of the typefaces. Although primarily aimed at educational use, the Sassoon faces should prove very useful in advertising, reports, television graphics, in short anywhere that requires a humanist feel while retaining excellent readability.
