The success of the Palatino typeface rests in its creative and clear design, which shows discipline and strength in all its details. Palatino has verve, vitality, and a particular charm that makes the type useful for every imaginable typographic application – especially where legibility in text plays a strong role.
Palatino nova is Prof. Hermann Zapf’s redesign of his own masterpiece, Palatino. An authentic expansion of the original typeface, it surpasses all of the many copies of Palatino made over the last 50 years. Years in the making, these powerful digital letterforms are now easier to use than ever, thanks to OpenType technology and its linguistic and typographic benefits.
The fonts in the Palatino nova family support all 48 Western, Central, and Eastern European languages, in addition to Cyrillic and Greek. Additional features include: ligatures and historical ligatures, Small Caps, ornaments, and a range of numerals (proportional & tabular width lining and Oldstyle figures, fractions, inferiors, and superiors).

A groovy swirl of a font, Candice looks like an ice cream sundae topped with whipped cream. Designed by Alan Meeks in 1976, Candice is often seen on album covers, and has come to be associated with innumerable party hits from the 1970s. One thing is for sure: Candice is a child of it’s times – flashy, lively, and fun!

Created in collaboration between Linotype and the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences, trytype presents new and experimental designs made from Linotype’s font offerings.
