Galette font family

Designed by Jan Schmoeger
The Galette™ typeface is a contemporary all-purpose sans serif design intended for printing and online delivery. Not only a high-resolution font with extensive kerning, the family was designed from the ground up for clear and uniform display on computer screens. As a result, Galette enables the use of one layout for both printed material and online without loss of quality or legibility. A hint of Art Nouveau in the design, makes the typeface expressive and individualistic, while a number of alternative capitals allow its “expression” to be turned up – or down – at will. A generous complement of accented characters for Western and Eastern European languages – as well as Baltic and Turkish – also enables multi-lingual use.

Standard Ligatures

Tag: liga

Function: Replaces a sequence of glyphs with a single glyph which is preferred for typographic purposes. This feature covers the ligatures which the designer/manufacturer judges should be used in normal conditions. The glyph for ffl replaces the sequence of glyphs f f l.

Stylistic Alternates

Tag: salt

Function: Many fonts contain alternate glyph designs for a purely esthetic effect; these don't always fit into a clear category like swash or historical. As in the case of swash glyphs, there may be more than one alternate form. This feature replaces the default forms with the stylistic alternates. The user applies this feature to Industria to get the alternate form of g.
