Portuguese designer Patricia Carvalho created the font Linotype Cethubala™ in 1997. Die Linotype Cethubala gehört zu den Schriften der TakeType Library . Diese wurden aus der Fülle der Einsendungen der 1994 und 1997 von Linotype ausgeschriebenen Wettbewerbe International Digital Type Design Contest ausgewählt.

Die Funschrift Linotype Cethubala der Portugiesin Patricia Carvalho ist ein sehr verspielter konstruierter Font. Die Buchstabenformen dieser Schrift sind ungewöhnlich, ihre Bedeutung läßt sich manchmal erst in Verbindung ganzer Wortfiguren erahnen. Die Zeichen der Cethubala machen einen ungelenken und verschlossenen Eindruck, als würden sie vergessene Botschaften verflossener Zeitalter in sich tragen, die nun nicht mehr entziffert werden können. Die Cethubala eignet sich ausschließlich für Überschriften in großen Schriftgraden.
