Venture™ Venture Script reflects Hermann Zapfs handwriting. It was originally written with a Japanese feltpen. And like with Zapfs typeface Noris Script™ he wanted to preserve the rough outline of the handwritten form in the final drawings. Die Zapf Dingbats umfasste anfänglich eine Auswahl von 360 Symbolen, Ornamenten und typografischen Elementen aus über 1200 Vorlagen. (Erstmals wird hier als „zeigende Hand“ eine Frauenhand genommen.) Die bestehende Zapf Dingbats bietet eine kleine Untermenge dieses großen Angebots.
Deshalb schuf Hermann Zapf neue Symbole für die Zapf Dingbats, die jetzt bei der Linotype GmbH als "Zapf Essentials™" zu haben sind – 6 Schriften mit neuen, modernen Symbolen für Fax, Handy und Internet.
