Designer Erik Spiekermann created the following fonts: Berliner Grotesk® BQ (1913), Lo-Type® BQ (1914 ,this font has been adapted from the original for use in photosetting applications), ITC Officina Sans® (1990), ITC Officina Serif® (1990).

Die ITC Officina® Serif by Adobe Schriftfamilie ist in der ITC Collection-Bibliothek enthalten.
Die Officina folgt in ihrem formalen Aufbau dem bekannten Schema eines problemlosen Austauschs zwischen Serif und Sans. Der Grundgedanke einer gut funktionierenden Schrift für die Bürokommunikation wurde mit der Officina überzeugend gelöst. Sie folgt in ihrer Grundgestaltung dem reduzierten Formentypus der Renaissanceschriften. Dieses Grundgerüst wurde auch für die Serif übernommen, hier aber durch betonte Serifenformen ergänzt. Beide Schriftarten der Officina wirken von ihrer Grundanlage leicht gesperrt, um eine optimale Lesbarkeit zu erreichen. Die Officina vereint in ihrer Gestaltung die Anmutung von Schreibmaschinenschriften mit dem modernen Design einer Drucktype.
