The british designer Rosemary Sassoon created the fonts Sassoon® Book, Sassoon® Infant, Sassoon® Primary, Sassoon® Sans and Sassoon® Sans Slope in 1995. Sassoon was designed in the style of typefaces found in schoolbooks in the early 20th century. The font exhibits a harmony between the space within and outside of the letters. The forms have soft, round forms which give text an almost ornamental character. This flexible font can be used for headlines or text, in small or large point sizes.

Die Sassoon, eine Schrift im Charakter von Schulbuchschriften, wurde 1999 von Rosemary Sassoon gestaltet. Ziel bei der Konzeption dieser serifenlosen Schrift im Schnurzugcharakter war es bei gleichzeitiger Bewegung eine umfassende Harmonie zu schaffen zwischen Außen- und Innenform bzw. zwischen vorhergehendem und nachfolgendem Buchstaben. Daraus, wie auch aus den sehr weichen, runden Formen ergibt sich ihre ornamentale Textwirkung. In ihren historischen Ursprüngen läßt sie sich auf amerikanische Werbe- und Plakatschriften der Jahrhundertwende zurückführen. Die Sassoon kann als Headline- wie auch als Textschrift von kleinen bis großen Schriftgraden angewendet werden.
