Bei der Entstehung der F2F (Face2Face)-Familie standen die Klänge der 1990er-Jahre, ein PC, Font-Creation-Software und natürlich ein gutes Stück Kreativität Pate. Alessio Leonardi und Freunde erhielten den Auftrag zur Gestaltung von neuen, ungewöhnlichen Schriften zur Verwendung in der damals führenden deutschen Zeitschrift der Technoszene, Frontpage. Selbst in so kleinen Größen wie 6 Punkt und in Layouts, die das Lesen erschwerten, hatten die Kids einen Riesenspaß, die Botschaften zu entziffern.

Die Glyphen der F2F Prototipa Multipla sind kleine Kunstwerke ¿ jede eine Collage für sich. Ein mit der Prototipa Multipla gesetzter Text wirkt eher wie ein Teppichmuster ¿ oder eben wie ein Kunstwerk.
