Typo-Galerie – Noa
Early-stage transparent sketches. They show some of the process. The work of “Noa” is six years old — my second typeface. The process of drawing letters by hand, was important to me at that time. Today I go to the computer almost directly.
“Noa” started as a school project; a fictional design for Danish television called “Danmarks Radio”.
At this point I drew/wrote words — to see if the character is visually strong. Not much of “Noa” at this stage …
Drawn sample — shows a lot of “Noa’s” character. Big x-height, and very small ascenders and descenders.

The theme was “souvenirs”.
Noa’s clear and legible forms allow the typeface to work in all sort
of applications, even very small ones, like this Danish postage stamp.
