License Extensions License Extensions Agreements are arranged for a predetermined number of computers (larger than 5 or 20 depending upon the product). License Extension for 3rd Parties This license extension is needed for those who are not employees of the entity (company, organisation) licensing the fonts, who need them for project work done for the company. As a general rule, 3rd Parties include service bureaus, printers and advertising agencies who do contract work for the company using the licensed fonts. Editable Embedding License All Linotype fonts are standard-equipped with “Print & Preview” level embedding rights. This means that, when an electronic document is distributed, the fonts used in it may be embedded into it as long as the document will only be viewed onscreen or printed by its recipients. Not all types of documents can have fonts embedded into them, but many popular formats can, e.g., PDFs. If you want to embed a font into an electronic document that can be edited by its recipient, you must purchase additional embedding rights for the font. This higher level is called “Editable Embedding,” and you can add it to your order simply. Not all applications that use fonts or read documents support the “Editable Embedding” feature; however, Adobe Acrobat does, and an Adobe Acrobat document is not editable at all unless the font(s) used in it are quipped with the “Editable Embedding” level. Fonts with this higher level of embedding are modified internally so that software packages like Adobe Acrobat will recognize them, streamlining your document generating process. Corporate License The Corporate License grants everyone within a company access to a particular font. This is convenient for large corporations; in particular, those with multiple offices and or geographic locations. Customers may distribute the font freely throughout their organization. Corporate Licenses can save thousands while easing the implementation process and providing flexibility for growth. Font Embedding, Streaming and Web Server License These licenses are for publishers or web designers who wish to embed fonts into eBooks or other commercial products. These licenses are also for those who wish to to embed fonts in websites that allow content editing, or web servers that use fonts in their applications used by end users.
