German designer Johannes Birkenbach, born 21. 11. 1956 in Ludwigshafen, created the fonts Jeunesse Sans™, Jeunesse Slab™, Jocelyn, Perrywood™ and Ulissa.

Jocelyn is a simplified sans serif design in four weights based on basic shapes like half circles and straight lines. The Jocelyn font family was designed entirely on-screen. Most characters have similar if not identical widths, revealing their strict geometrical construction. Horizontal and vertical strokes are monoline, the x-height is quite large, ascenders and descenders are fairly long. Accordingly, line feed will have to be generous. Some unusual letterforms and the even color on the page provide a versatile display face for headlines and small quantities of text. Use Jocelyn in advertising and general display work.
