Linotype¿s Lotus font derives from foundry types cut earlier this century from calligraphic models in the Ottoman style of Naskh (the traditional style of Arabic script for use in printing). Its graceful finials and elegant logotypes contribute to the classic look of the face making it particularly suitable for serious book and journal work.
The PostScript versions of these fonts have taken full advantage of digital technology and Linotype¿s software to allow accurate positioning of diacriticals and kerning refinements.
