Die Linotype Sketch gehört zu den Schriften der Take Type Library . Diese wurden aus der Fülle der Einsendungen der 1994 und 1997 von Linotype ausgeschriebenen Wettbewerbe International Digital Type Design Contest ausgewählt.

Die Linotype Sketch des Deutschen Dieter Kurz besitzt einen starken Schreibcharakter. Die Formen der Buchstaben wirken, wie für Handschriften typisch, zufällig und individuell. Die leichte Rechtsneigung des Alphabets unterstreicht diesen Eindruck. Das Schriftbild der Linotype Sketch kann als sehr heiter, leicht und doch harmonisch beschrieben werden.
