Die Linotype Seven gehört zu den Schriften der TakeType Library . Diese wurden aus der Fülle der Einsendungen der 1994 und 1997 von Linotype ausgeschriebenen Wettbewerbe International Digital Type Design Contest ausgewählt. Die Linotype Seven zählt zu den Preisträgerschriften und wurde von Christian Vornehm gestaltet.

Der Schriftdesigner wischte seine Buchstabenfiguren mit einem breiten, borstigen Pinsel schnell und flüchtig, wie in Zeitnot, auf den Untergrund. Die Außenkonturen sind ausgefranst, eine detaillierte Formensprache läßt das grobe Schreibgerät nicht zu. Energiegeladen und zufällig, fast aggressiv wirkt die Schrift Linotype Seven. Sie eignet sich ausschließlich für den Satz kurzer prägnanter Überschriften in großen Schriftgraden.
