Johnstemp – eine Stempelschrift, basierend auf Tagesstempel von Linotype
Vor vielen Jahren entwarf einer unserer Schriftendesigner aus Deutschland eine Symbolschriftfamilie, die er Linotype Tagesstempel™ nannte. Wie man weiß, ist ein „Tagesstempel” so ein Handlanger der Bürokratie, mit dem man Datum und Zeit manuell einstellen und dann auf Dokumente stempeln kann. Die Linotype Russisch Brot™ Schriftfamilie ist in der
TakeType Collection-Bibliothek enthalten.
Die Linotype Russisch Brot gehört zu den Schriften der Take Type Library . Diese wurden aus der Fülle der Einsendungen der 1994 und 1997 von Linotype ausgeschriebenen Wettbewerbe International Digital Type Design Contest ausgewählt.
Unschwer ist die Inspirationsquelle für die Linotype Russisch Brot des Deutschen Markus Remscheid zu erkennen. Das Russisch Brot selbst, mit seinen schmalen Figuren und den abgerundeten Ecken, aus dem so mancher als Kind Worte bildete und darauf sofort vernaschte, hat hier Modell gestanden. Die Linotype Russisch Brot wurde in sechs Schnitten gestaltet. Der Grundschnitt ist recht gut lesbar und eignet sich neben dem Satz von Ueberschriften auch für kürzere Texte. Die restlichen Schnitte sind in immer zunehmenderem Maße in der Auflösung begriffen und zeigen, was passiert, wenn man sich unachtsam auf eine mit dieser Süssigkeit gefüllte Tüte setzt. Typografisch gesehen entsteht der vergleichende Effekt im übereinanderbelichten der drei Varianten.
