The french designer Boul Yvan created Linotype Afroculture™ and Linotype Dinosaures™. Both symbol fonts belong to the Take Type Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contest 1999 for inclusion on the TakeType 3.1 CD.

Like the name suggests, the pi font Afroculture depicts symbols and figures from African folk art. Stylized masks with different expressions and a number of sculptures lend variety to this font. The figures are consciously simple but shown from different perspectives. The black and white surfaces contrast with another and suggest the interplay between shadow and light.
