Halloween Value PackLinotype created this value pack just in time for your next annual Halloween party! With five fonts (three text faces and two symbol fonts), we are pleased to offer you a collection of typefaces that work together to cover the entire spooky spectrum. Take a closer look out our selection today; it's a scream!Steve Zafarana designed ITC Gargoonies in 1995. Gargoyles, stock figures in every medieval horror story, have become part of our everyday architectural repertoire. Now, these grotesqueries from the past are available for easy use in print or pixel-based work! Whether you're designing a major new French cathedral or sending a note to an eager-to-be-scared grandchild, you will find a plentiful selection of images to choose from in this typeface.
To create eerie text that appears to vibrate, we recommend Linotype Alphabat. Designed in 1999 by German designer Jan Tomás, Linotype Alphabat's letters start to change from letters into flying bats and scary faces when looked at up close. This fear-inspiring font should be used for short texts, and is particularly effective in larger point sizes and headlines, where its details would be emphasized.
Need a more mystical mood? Try Linotype Boundaround, designed by German artist Christina Sachse. In this font, all vertical strokes-which have varying widths-converge toward a point on the base line. Text set in Linotype Boundaround appears as if it will imminently clutch all innocent passers-by, pulling them swiftly into the darkness.
In 1997, Urs Lehni created an ultra-spooky font, which we are pleased to reintroduce: Linotype Freak Cabinet. Quite possibly the scariest font in our entire library, Linotype Freak Cabinet is a symbol font that is made of a collection of various faces and heads. Drawn in a style that is similar to woodcut prints, these visages-one for every sort of Halloween mask you could image-stare out at you with the most frightening expressions.
The last font in our Value Pack is part of British designer Timothy Donaldson's Spooky family. Spooky is a display text face that is full of unevenly contoured glyphs that line up irregularly, conjuring up thoughts of ghosts, bats, vampires and darkness. Spooky is the ideal font for ghost stories (with or without happy endings) or parodies of horror and romance.
