Font Designer – Rafael Frank

Born on 11 March 1867 in Ischenhausen near Augsburg; died in March 1920 in Leipzig. Scholar and teacher. He designed Frank-Ruehl, which was to become the ubiquitous Hebrew text font style of the 20th century. It was adapted for use on typesetting machines and many printers provided a phototypesetting service using this font.
