The graphic designer Oliver Brentzel created Linotype Spitz™ in 1997. Here are Brentzel’s comments on it: "The motif of the Chrysler building used in the poster symbolizes for me the language of form that also forms the basis for the ’Spitz’ font. This is a combination of pointed and semicircular elements that develop their own aesthetic value in their interplay. Neither the Chrysler building nor the ’Spitz’ font is designed on the basis of geometric rules; they both take account of optical phenomena in their design." Linotype Spitz is part of the Linotype Library. |
