This collection of works was produced by students attending the “Art and Clients – trytype2 cooperation project with Linotype” seminar held during the 2010/2011 winter semester at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences in Wiesbaden. Following on from the publication in 2005 by Mergenthaler Edition Linotype Library, Bad Homburg, of the results of the large scale “trytype” print project, the experimental typographic forms produced during a “Creative Graphics” seminar, comes trytype2 with its series of experimental “Motion Graphics” created using selected Linotype fonts. Although each of the students was allowed to go their various and individual ways, they agreed to conform to the following requirements: experimental presentation of fonts, emotive effects, audiovisual dialogue, and trailer character. The examples now being made available to view by Linotype demonstrate how the young designers coped with their remit.
It was a great privilege for us to be able to work together with such an innovative and respected typographic company, and the trytype 2 team would like to take this opportunity to express their thanks to Linotype.
