Font Designer – Manfred Kloppert

Manfred Kloppert was born on 8 May 1943 in Dresden, Germany. He qualified in typeface lithography and studied graphic font design under tutors including Prof. G. Junge at Berlin’s College of Applied Arts. He has been working as a freelance graphic designer since 1970. In addition to preparing concepts for packaging and logos, he has also designed book covers for the Aufbau-Verlag publishing company in Berlin. One of Kloppert’s poster designs was among East Germany’s “Best Posters of the Year” in 1977. In his more recent work, he has tended to focus on calligraphy and font design.
