Linex Sans & Sweet
Albert Boton began his professional career as a carpenter. Fortunately for us, he laid his hammer to rest, and set about creating beautiful letterforms. During his long and productive career in type design, he has graced us with hundreds of designs, and picked up numerous awards along the way.
In the late 90s Albert Boton designed Linex Sweet™, a small family of four fonts. Its soft corners, its slight contrast, and asymmetric head serifs lend it a slightly organic feel, though it remains thoroughly confident. Joined a little later by a sans addition to the Linex family, Linex Sans® makes good use of the skeleton of Linex Sweet, maintaining some of its calligraphic contrast, thus making it a little friendlier than your average sans. Even in retirement, Boton’s passion for letters is undiminished, and he continues to create fresh, new typeface designs, like Linex Sans. Its elegant blend of crisp angles and soft shapes makes for an authoritative yet graceful and elegant typeface that is equally at home both in display and text settings. This carefully crafted family, comprising both Linex Sweet and Linex Sans is now available in OpenType Pro format.
