The Source of the Originals

Well-known type foundries such as Mergenthaler, Linotype, D. Stempel AG, Haas'sche Schriftgießerei, Deberny & Peignot and others laid the foundations towards the Linotype Library becoming the most extensive collection of original fonts. The library contains world-famous classic fonts such as "Frutiger", "Garamond", "Helvetica", "Optima", "Palatino", "Sabon", "Syntax", "Univers" and "Zapfino", to name but a few. Linotype regards itself as a driving force for helping good font designs to success ¿ giving them the opportunity to become classics, even if they were not developed in-house. "Antique Olive" and "Eurostile" are prime examples of this policy.
The names of the most renowned type designers of the 20th and 21st century, e. g., Neville Brody, Matthew Carter, Adrian Frutiger, Hans-Eduard Meier, Gerard Unger and Prof. Hermann Zapf, represent the excellent quality of these typefaces. In addition, modern typefaces that provide a preview of tomorrow's trends offer you room for experimentation when you want to venture into new territories with unconventional designs. Like all Linotype Originals typefaces, they maintain the highest aesthetic and technical standards, backed by well over 100 years of premium typographical quality from Linotype.
The Exclusive Collection
The Platinum Collection is an exclusive series of optimized classic typefaces in the Linotype Library. In close collaboration with world-famous type designers, Linotype has produced reworked, expanded typeface families that are both technologically and aesthetically up to date. These new typeface families have fine, harmonious weights; some have new italic weights and often come complete with Small Caps and Old style figures. All Platinum Collection typeface families have fine-tuned and perfected character fitting and forms.
Back in 1990, Erik Spiekermann and Neville Brody decided to build a foundry where type was made for "designers by designers", a library where type designers were given a fair and friendly offer and where type magic could happen. From the very beginning, FontFont bent the rules and crossed typographic boundaries. Within several years FontFont and its Typeboard built a successful library for all purposes, that was contemporary, experimental, unorthodox, and radical.Twenty-five years later FontFont is now one of the leading font foundries with the largest library of original, contemporary typefaces. The library is home to over 2500 FontFonts including favorites such as FF Meta, FF DIN, FF Scala, FF Dax, and FF Kievit and newbies like, FF Chartwell, FF Tundra, FF Ernestine, and FF Tisa.At the heart of what FontFont do is a heady mix of intuition, passion, a sprinkling of serendipity, an eye for detail, and a dash of attitude. From the first ever random font FF Beowolf to the release of the 196 weight superfamily FF Good in 2014, FontFont place creativity at the forefront and produces the highest quality typefaces that are technically robust and that continually innovate.
