Mark Jamra is born and raised in the United States. Graduate studies were at The Basel School of Design in Switzerland. He is a graphic designer, type designer and Assistant Professor at Maine College of Art. Mark Jamra was type designer/consultant for Hewlett-Packard Research Laboratories in Bristol, England and URW Software & Type GmbH in Hamburg, Germany where he lived from 1984–1995. Kinesis was designed by Mark Jamra. The truly kinetic nature of this typeface makes it as suitable for display settings as for longer blocks of text. Balancing unconventional forms and expressive calligraphic lettering with legible text typeface characteristics, Kinesis offers a wide range of weights and a vigorous personality for book text and magazine ad copy, as well as larger formats such as bulletins, posters, and packaging.
