Cynthia Hollandsworth Batty – born 8. 7. 1956 in Washington D.C., USA – type designer. Studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. Manager of the department of type design and development at Agfa Compugraphic in Massachusetts. Consultant to ITC Typeface Review Board.

1987: founds the Typeface Design Coalition to try to secure legal protection for type designs and software in the USA. Has worked with Barbara Gibb on a new version of an F. H. E. Schneidler typeface whose production was prevented in the 1930s by the outbreak of the war.
