Nasalization font family

Designed by Ray Larabie in 2000
One small logo for NASA, one giant font for mankind! Nasalization retains the feel of the 70’s American Space Program while setting its sights on the future with its clean, streamlined design. For an oblique look there are italics for most weights and widths. For even greater flexibility there are alternate characters; barred and non-barred A, open and closed B, P and R and left leaning M and W. The Nasalization crew consists of 3 weights: light, regular and bold available 3 widths: condensed, regular and extended plus italics for each. In addition to the regular payload of 18 styles, there is an extra shipment of bonus styles: * Outline, where outer space meets inner space.* 3D, because the Universe isn’t flat after all.* Video, when motion is part of the big picture.* Galaxy, transmitted from the Eastern spiral arm.* Ink, full of static but still coming in loud and strong. Ideal for neon signs, back-lit signs, science reports, headlines and retail product packaging, Nasalization looks retro and futuristic at the same time. When your message needs to aim high and go far: choose Nazalization.

Features

Fractions

Tag: frac

Function: Replaces figures separated by a slash with 'common' (diagonal) fractions. The user enters 3/4 in a recipe and gets the threequarters fraction.

Standard Ligatures

Tag: liga

Function: Replaces a sequence of glyphs with a single glyph which is preferred for typographic purposes. This feature covers the ligatures which the designer/manufacturer judges should be used in normal conditions. The glyph for ffl replaces the sequence of glyphs f f l.

Scientific Inferiors

Tag: sinf

Function: Replaces lining or oldstyle figures with inferior figures (smaller glyphs which sit lower than the standard baseline, primarily for chemical or mathematical notation). May also replace lowercase characters with alphabetic inferiors. The application can use this feature to automatically access the inferior figures (more legible than scaled figures).

Superscript

Tag: sups

Function: Replaces lining or oldstyle figures with superior figures (primarily for footnote indication), and replaces lowercase letters with superior letters (primarily for abbreviated French titles). The application can use this feature to automatically access the superior figures (more legible than scaled figures) for footnotes, or the user can apply it to Mssr to get the classic form.
