Bodoni
Designed by Morris Fuller Benton for ATF from 1907 to 1911.
Based on the work of Giambattista Bodoni (1740–1813).
Benton’s Bodoni is one of the first modern revivals of Bodoni’s typefaces. Linotype engineered a version of the revival for its linecasting machines in 1914–1918.

Stymie
Designed by Morris Fuller Benton for ATF in 1931.
Later expanded upon by Sol Hess at Lanston Monotype and Gary Powell at ATF.
Stymie, a redesign of the Inland Type Foundry’s “Rockwell Antique,” may have also been inspired by popular European slab serif typefaces, like D. Stempel AG’s Memphis.
