Gottfried Pott is an excellent expert in calligraphic handwriting. He designed famous fonts for Linotype and is author of numerous publications. More about the fonts: Arioso™ Arioso stems from an early form of Old Face, developed during the 14th and 15th centuries in Italy. The style mixed Roman capital letter forms with Carolingian minuscule for the lower case. This combination puts it in the same basic family as many other Italic Chancery typefaces, like Hermann Zapf's ITC Zapf [...]

About Duc de Berry™ Font Family ...

Linotype usage sample for
Designer: Gottfried Pott, 1990
The Duc de Berry™ Font Family is part of the Linotype Originals.
Duc de Berry font is a part of the 1990 program "Type before Gutenberg", which included the work of twelve contemporary font designers and represented styles from across the ages. The design of Duc de Berry was influenced by those of typefaces created between the 13th and 16th centuries. The font was named after Duc de Berry, whose beautiful missals inspired typefaces of the 15th century. The capital letters are especially elegant and can be used either as initials or as contrast to the much more reserved lower case letters.
