Bad Homburg, 19.September 2000.

Linotype GmbH announces a long-term partnership with MyFonts.com.
MyFonts.com is based in the US (Cambridge, MA) and will offer the complete Linotype Library on www.myfonts.com, its e-commerce Website. With this agreement, MyFonts.com now gives users direct access to over 2,000 fonts in the Linotype Library.

The mission of Linotype Library and MyFonts.com is to make fonts accessible to everyone, which benefits both users and the foundries. Fonts have been a puzzle for the general computer user-difficult to find, purchase, and install, and often an unknown aspect of their desktop environment.

"Having a well-known partner like Linotype is a real coup for MyFonts.com," explained Charles Ying, CEO of Bitstream and one of the founders of MyFonts.com. "Linotype has a long history of designing high-quality fonts. Offering their entire font library on MyFonts.com benefits everyone. Our goal is to make fonts accessible to all computer users, not just graphic arts professionals."

"We at Linotype are delighted to be participating in MyFonts.com," stated Bruno Steinert, Managing Director of Linotype GmbH. "We believe that by making it very easy for anyone to find and purchase virtually any font in the world, MyFonts.com marks a great leap forward for the entire font industry."

Many of today’s most important fonts have their roots in the Linotype Library, one of the most extensive font libraries in the world. Customers across the globe have licensed original PostScript fonts from Linotype, well known for producing, marketing, and licensing high-quality fonts. The loyalty and creativity of today’s highly renowned international typeface designers have made the Linotype Library the center of traditional and innovative modern typeface design. The Linotype Library has clearly left its mark on international print design.
